With it's Mediaeval Towers and 'royal' interior The Excalibur Hotel makes an excellent choice for reasonably priced rooms and restaurants. It is popular for families with plenty to entertain the children, like the Midway area just below the casino with carnival games and the latest arcade games. Children (well adults too!) are more than likely to win loads of stuffed animals to take home.
 The Excalibur Hotel's atmosphere also lends itself to groups of friends wanting to have fun without it being too over the top. The hotel is in the process of gradually refurbishing it's rooms. It is well worth upgrading to one of these in Tower II with one queen or two king sized beds and large flat screen TVs. They are also closer to the pool, so you don't need to walk through the Casino to get there.  With a walkway to the Luxor Hotel, tramway to the Mandalay Bay and the Tropicana, MGM Grand and New York New York just along the block, the Excalibur is in quite a good location towards the south end of the Strip. Everyone ends up walking far further than anticipated in Vegas, so we do suggest taking advantage of the extremely reasonable local bus. At $5 for 24 hours it's well worth it! For Evening Entertainment at the Excalibur Hotel start with Dick's Last Resort famous for messy cuisine, zany decor and rowdy waiting staff - it is something else! Recommended for those with a sense of humour, who don't take life too seriously or get offended easily.  Sherwood Forest Cafe lets you dine 24/7 on burgers to pancakes at whatever time of the day you fancy. Italian favourites are on offer at Regale Ristaurante and then there's the Steakhouse at Camelot and Round Table Buffet to provide you with a complete range. You shout, you boo, they ride horses, clash swords, joust and you eat the food with your hands. The Tournament of Kings performers are very professional and put on a show which is highly entertaining for all the family.  The Excalibur have recently doubled the size of their pool area, adding cabanas, fire pit, sun decks and relaxation pool. Ten newly appointed cabanas are designed with families in mind, the other seven are located in the over 18 adult pool area. Overlooking the pool, the Spa is a great place to - take a treatment or simply relax in the Redwood Sauna, Eucalyptus Steam Room or Heated Whirlpool.  The Canterbury Wedding Chapels offer the opportunity to get marred in style. You can even hire the mediaeval costumes.
